This one-size ladies’ coat in softened cotton drill is derived from the oversized poacher's coat of yesteryear. It boasts a block-printed trompe l'oeil lining featuring the poacher's quarry - a hare, an eel and a pheasant. These are pin-stitched, as patches, into the coat's lining - fine, white cotton twill - and 'hung' from internal buttons. A coat pocket also hides a large pocket-bag with drawstring - it, too, is block-printed with a clutch of eggs.
The coat is ageless and size-less with a handmade, artisanal feel. Details include: deep raglan sleeves, patch pockets, a two button front fastening and relaxed collar with top-stitched collar-stand.
The colour is Tobacco.
We have just one available at present.
All our coats are created by Janet Tristram at Bonfield in rural West Dorset.
