This one-size ladies’ coat is derived from the poacher’s coat of yesteryear. The hand-dyed wool & linen herringbone has been artfully constructed - its well-placed patches lend it a timeless, ‘make-do-and-mend’ aesthetic. It boasts a block-printed trompe l’oeil lining (in Raw umber) featuring the poacher’s quarry - a hare, an eel and a pheasant. These are pin-stitched, as patches, into the coat’s calico lining and ‘hung’ from internal buttons.
The coat is ageless and size-less with a handmade, artisanal feel.
The colour is Brown.
As with all our garments, the coat is made entirely by the artist, Janet Tristram, at Bonfield in West Dorset.
